We've seen Apache Kafka® used on-premises, but what about in the cloud? Confluent Cloud fully managed Apache Kafka as a service, enables developers to make the most of Kafka without the operational burden of maintaining clusters.
This year's challenge theme is Cloud-Native DevOps for Apache Kafka. The goal of this challenge is to create an innovative event streaming application with Confluent Cloud.
Kafka Hackathon EU is a safe place for developers to learn, play, and showcase their projects on a global stage. This hackathon welcomes and encourages all developers and enthusiasts, no matter what level of understanding they have for Kafka technology. All participants will have 12 days to receive help from our hackathon mentors while attempting to solve a Kafka-related challenge. This hackathon will be open to both individuals and representatives of organizations. Project submission begins on April 26, and the project submission and hackathon registration cutoff are on May 7 at 12 pm GMT.
Projects will be evaluated on the following criteria:
Address the challenge: Does the product address the challenge?
Innovation: Does the product introduce a new approach or perspective using Kafka technical?
Function as intended: Does the product function as intended?
Feasibility: Could this team turn this app into a real startup or feasible product?
We Promise: All the code you create during this hackathon is yours, and we will take no ownership of it. You are encouraged to do whatever you want with your project after this event.
We encourage participants to work in teams of five. If you are an individual looking to join a team before the event, please contact the Community Team at community@confluent.io.
